Man in Hospital After Being Hit by Banshee Roller Coaster at Kings Island


On June 20, 2024, a 38-year-old man was critically injured after being struck by the Banshee roller coaster at Kings Island, Mason, Ohio. The accident occurred when the man entered a restricted area near the ride, which reaches speeds of up to 68 miles per hour. 

Emergency responders transported him to the University of Cincinnati West Chester before flying him to UC Medical Center. Kings Island has closed the Banshee ride for investigation and emphasized their commitment to safety. Public reactions highlight concerns about amusement park safety and adherence to guidelines. An internal and external investigation is underway to determine the incident’s cause.
